On February 20 and 21, OHBA and EnerQuality hosted their annual Builder & Renovator Forum at Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood.
The forum focus was on “Building Excellence from Regulation to Implementation” and consisted of industry-related information sessions and training opportunities. Some of the featured presentations included: a WSIB update, the 2012 Ontario Building Code update from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH), Inspection Insights from the Ontario Building Officials Association (OBOA), the Future of ENERGY STAR, OHBA’s Institute of Building Excellence, building with six-storey wood, a Tarion update and a sales and marketing component on effectively engaging the consumer.

Media Release – WRHBA Announces 39th President
Brian Campbell, President
Waterloo Region Home Builders’ Association
Waterloo Region Home Builders’ Association (WRHBA) is pleased to announce its 39th President, Mr. Brian Campbell. He succeeds Jamie Adam.
Brian has been an attending member of WRHBA since 1988 through various survey firms throughout the Region. In 2008, he was elected to the Board of Directors where he served on several committees. In 2009, he was first elected to the Executive Committee as Treasurer and in 2010 he then moved to 2nd Vice President, where he was appointed WRHBA’s Representative to the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) Urban Council and a CHBA Board Director. Brian went on to become WRHBA’s 1st Vice President in 2011 and served as a standing member on an array of committees including: Cambridge Liaison, Joint Liaison, Summer Bash, Election Task Force (Provincial) and a member of the Ontario Home Builders’ Association’s Board of Directors.
Brian was born in Kitchener, and lived most of his life in Cambridge. He graduated from Galt Collegiate Institute, has a B.A. (Economics) from the University of Guelph, a B.Sc. (Survey Science) from the University of Toronto and, in 1993 was first licensed as an Ontario Land Surveyor.
Brian comes from a family of Land Surveyors. His father, Jim Campbell, and uncle, Doug Campbell are retired surveyors following successful careers within the Region of Waterloo. In the past, Brian had ownership in the local survey firms James S. Campbell Ltd, Ansley, Campbell and Serack Ltd., and Martinus Vorsteveld Inc. In 2002 his firms joined a consortium to form Auer, Campbell & Ims Survey Consultants Inc. In 2007 he left ACI to join Stantec Consulting where he continues to enjoy a successful surveying career as Managing Principal, Surveys/Geomatics, working from the Stantec Kitchener Office.
Brian has two children with his partner, Bev Grant-Campbell. Their son, Scott, is 21 and attending Wilfred Laurier University while their daughter, Ashley, is 19 and attending the University of Western Ontario.
His family lives and works in the City of Kitchener and enjoys summers at their cottage in Muskoka.
